Jalpaiguri Govt. P.T.T.I. is one of the oldest educational institutes of the district. It was established in 1950, few years after the independence of India for the welfare of the society. Firstly it was known as Guru Training School, after that Basic School, thirdly the people knew the Institute as Jr. Basic Training Institute. Lastly it became Jalpaiguri Govt. P.T.T.I. Till the date the institute is known as Jalpaiguri Govt. P.T.T.I. The Institute holds its fame as a successful educational Institute among the people for the years.
